Google’s text-to-speech and speech-to-text technology allow you to power your device with the magic of Google. With Speech Services, third-party apps can convert what you say into written words. 

It can be used by many applications including Google Maps when you use your voice to search places, Recorder App to transcribe your recordings on device, Phone App Call Screen feature to get a real-time transcription of your caller, and more!

Google Speech-to-Text functionality is accessible on Android devices. To use this feature, click Settings > Apps & notifications > Default apps > Assist App. Select Google as your preferred voice input engine by selecting Voice Services under Assisting app’s subheading to access it more easily and quickly with one touch of a button or widget at any time without having to go through several steps before opening its interface page manually.

Google Text-to-Speech functionality is an application that can be used by apps such as Google Play Books to read books aloud, or Talkback and accessibility applications for spoken feedback across your device.

Want to hear what your text messages and emails sound like? If you want the computerized voice on your Android device, go to Settings > Languages & Inputs > Text-to-Speech output. Select Speech Services by Google as your preferred engine!
